Please see below message from Goochland County Public Schools regarding internet access:
As our 2020-2021 school year begins with distance learning, we are proud to announce partnerships with local organizations to provide additional opportunities for students, families, and citizens to access high speed internet in our community. Over the course of the summer, the Goochland High School robotics team, the Junkyard Dogs, received funding from the Goochland Education Foundation to built a solar powered mobile WiFi tower (Dogfi). The initial unit has been placed at Hidden Rock Park since mid July. Since then, our students have built three more that have been placed at strategic locations in our community. We are thankful for the following community partners who have allowed these units to be placed in their parking lots.
Second Union Church
County Line Baptist Church
Chief Cornerstone Baptist Church
FREE WiFi is available at these locations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
We have also partnered with other faith-based organizations who have graciously expressed their willingness to provide the community with FREE access to high speed internet. A list of these community partners can be found here. Please reach out to each church directly for more information. This collaboration between our school division and these partner agencies is another example of our ongoing initiatives to support the needs of our students and families.
